Cache Found: WEST OF WORK (#4) by MAGNUM
Friday the 13th of July, 2001 - 9:00 P.M.

After finding the Skyway to History cache in the foothills of Kanarra Mountain (just a few miles south of Cedar City, Utah), even though the sun had set, I thought I'd try for this cache too while I was in the area. Imagine my surprise when my eTrex led me to the Metalcraft parking lot. Magnum, do you work for Metalcraft? Do you know the big bossman Dave?

In the slowly dimming light of a very pleasant sunset, (the sun was down, but the sky was beautiful with just a very few clouds lit brilliantly by the sun)I trekked the few yards from the parking lot, down through what looked like a dry pond or something, and to the fence bordering a channel with a trickle of water in it (on the opposite side of the barbed wire fence). I figured the cache had to be somewhere near that tree. Unfortunately my GPS was telling me the cache was still 10 ft. further west. I ventured north and south along the fence looking for the best spot to squeeze through or climb over. Then at last a moment of intelligence hit me and I started carefully looking around me. Sure enough, there it was in plain sight not far from the tree, on THIS side of the fence.

Your cache was stuffed to the brim, Magnum. I can't imagine how all that stuff fit in there. I decided to put in the small sheriff badge tie pin I'd picked up from the Skyway to History cache just 20 minutes earlier, and take the fiver, Yoshidag! I couldn't tell what your log notebook signature said, so I'm glad you posted to the web site.

After writing my two cents worth in the log (I get long winded, can you tell?) I crammed all the stuff back in (it still boggled my mind, even after stuffing it all back in myself) and replaced the cache. This one was a fun, quick find on a pleasant cool summer evening (far cooler than in St. George, Utah to the south where the blistering hot summer forced me to stay indoors all day).
