Well she did it! I don't know how, but she did it. My youngest sibling finally triumphed. For a very long time now, my father has been adament that cats were outdoor pets only. My teenage sister wore his resistance down, and now she has a cat, a kitten. And it's fun to play with, sociable and friendly, soft fur, sharp claws and all.
Well the big job of upgrading Cisco routers to avoid any potential denial-of-service attacks exploiting a bug in Cisco's router operating system (IOS) at work is nearly complete. Whew! I hope something like that doesn't happen again anytime soon. Early this evening, I had a delightful and interesting discussion on the gospel of Jesus Christ with my mother. (If you haven't caught on yet, I've been visiting my folks the past few days in Hurricane.) She has been reading and studying to prepare a lesson on prayer for a multi-stake youth conference. It was deeply satisfying to listen to her read from her sources, excellent talks on the subject of prayer and personal revelation, and then to discuss the topic together and share experiences. Thanks, Mom! After yesterday's thundershower, the clouds in the sky gave hope that we'd see some precipitation today. A light sprinkle fell once or twice, but not as much as yesterday, not enough to wet the ground completely. I hope something materializes tonight. Good old Horsey's latest article (see www.hatrack.com) were a fun read as usual. I'll have to wait for an edited (read non-R) version of T3 to come out, either a television edit, or a DVD edit from somewhere like CleanFlicks or the Edit Artist before I get a chance to see it. But from what Horsey says, I may enjoy it. I also appreciate his comments on the Supreme Courts' recent decision. I think his points are well made, and cannot disagree. | |
