Birthdays and Blessings!
Thursday, 17 July 2003 6:55 PM MDT
It's my brother's birthday today, so here goes: Happy Birthday, Andy! Andy's been not only a brother, but a friend since we grew up together. Now he lives in Georgia with his wife and five kids. Though I do miss spending time together and visiting, he's the kind of brother and friend that when we do meet or chat on the telephone, we just pick right back up where we left of. Andy has also been a great example to me, of patience, diligence in doing what's right, and listening and obeying answers to prayers. Thank you, Andy!
I spent the day today in Hurricane at my parents home. I've been doing my job remotely, from their house, sitting at the kitchen table all day pounding the laptop keyboard, busy helping upgrade the IOS software on a bunch of routers. As I sit here still, the sky is dark and overcast. My little sister's kitten is romping around the room, chasing various inanimate objects across the kitchen floor or climbing up my legs to see what I'm up to.
Outside, the ground is wet, the concrete sidewalk and driveways glistening with rain water. Yes, we've been blessed. The windows of heaven have opened, and rain so long a stranger, is here. Heavenly Father has answered our prayers and the prayers of many others in this drought stricken area. Clouds, practically foreign around here, are a gray canvass against which lower clouds are scudding, trailing white wisps. It's beautiful. And the wind is gusting. I love it!
Well I've got more routers to upgrade, so back to it!
