Cover for The Alloy of Law, a new Mistborn novel to be released at midnight the morning of 08 Nov. 2011According to author Brandon Sanderson's web site, his new book The Alloy of Law, set in the same world as the Mistborn trilogy that I love so much. Brandon Sanderson and TOR, his publisher, have released several sample chapters already to whet my appetite:

2. Chapter Two
3. Chapter Three
4. Chapter Four
5. Chapter Five
6. Chapter Six (This chapter is/was not yet online as of 17 Aug. 2011) [UPDATE: 26 Aug. 2011—It is now online. Brandon announced it on his 'blog.]

This new standalone book, while set in the same world, takes place 341 years after the concluding events in The Hero of Ages (the third book of the original Mistborn trilogy). I've been devouring the chapters the instant I learn a new one is available online. And according to Brandon, one more chapter (chapter six) should be available online from TOR sometime before the end of August.

Sam Weber's artwork for The Mistborn Trilogy ebookI'm excited! The chapters I've read have me hooked. But then again, I've said that before. And I've been a Sanderson fan for over six years now, and even met him in 2007 at a book signing where I covertly captured a brief video at that signing.

Then while surfing around tor.com, I stumbled on this article by artist Sam Weber whose artwork for the Tor's ebook release of The Mistborn Trilogy which (I assume) encompasses all three of the first Mistborn books. Wow, Sam's art is practically perfect!
